Personally, I think a 2 year conscription would with a 4 year Reserve Status would do wonders for this generation.

On one hand, I think this would help immensely in giving the youth discipline and maybe patriotism. On the other, I don't agree with forcing people to become cannon fodder for the globalist elites. If the military was strictly a defense force, then I would be all for it. But I'm not sending my kid to die in a foreign land so politicians and defense contractors can make even more money while the media and swamp creatures tell him he is evil just for being white and having good values.

I think women should be forced to signup for Selective Service, at the same time Selective Service should be abolished.

The world has changed and there will never be a draft again. Vietnam changed everything where over 50,000 men died for politicians.

The All Volunteer Military was born in the 1970s from that and has provided for a much more valuable asset.

In lieu of the draft though, I do buy into the 1-2 years of military training and conditioning for 18-20 year olds.

I don't disagree with your conclusions but I still feel Conscription outweighs the issues you've mentioned. I would argue that a strong military is the deterrent. The weaker our military posture is the more likely some tin-plated dictator will test our mettle.

This isn't the only generation politicians have used the military to advance an agenda. That the history of mankind. I would argue a healthy generation or two of young people that served and learned more about patriotism, honor and duty would later in life become the leaders this nation needs.

There are many jobs in all branches of the military that are not combat related. Cyber intel is huge and getting bigger. A lot of medical jobs aren't combat related. My point is that not all jobs is combat and has been pointed out, the battlefield is changing.
