Not really. It depends on the airport, the usage, the type of travel and the preferred airline. For example, a Chase card does zero for him if he flies American.

Personally I do Chase points and Amex points mostly but I always transfer them to partners and in the case of Amex when the partner is giving bonus miles for the redemption.

Right. And Amex Platinum gets you + guests into the Centurion lounges. Something to consider if you do a lot of travel through most major US airports besides ATL & ORD.
