Cary (Raleigh burb) is ridiculously nice, even though it has gotten more liberal over the years.

NC in general is a very well run state.

To be honest, clean cities are great to live in, but boring to visit. Many lack culture.

Yeah, I've been to Cary many times. I used to travel to Raleigh 3-4 times per year.

I had a big client there at my previous job. They tried to hire me and I wanted to take it but my wife shut it down because she was pregnant.

Lots of Yankees and transplants but an overall nice place.
