I’ll add to the unrealistic expectations issue. The current format makes it exponentially more difficult to win a championship. To top it off, when they changed the park in Omaha and made the bat changes, it completely changed the way he had to recruit. He adapt to that pretty well. He’s been slower to adapt back to the recent bat changes. And I think he acknowledged this in the press conference.

No. He started recruiting all little guys that could run...except we didn’t steal bases except for the one year Cannizzaro was here. Paul would rather unsuccessfully bunt and call hit and runs. Paul had Bregman trying to beat the ball into the ground.
We went back and made a big run in Omaha after the ball change and home runs were a big part of it. Paul was not a good small ball coach. He let his gut make decisions and the percentages were bad.
