I’ve got a lot of experience with kayaks but very little with canoes. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Where do you plan on using it?

Just for tooling around or camping too?

I second the guy who said old town or mad river.
Paddled hundreds of river miles on 17ft old towns.
Holds a town of weight and balances great!

Take a look at Buffalo Canoe in Arkansas.

That's what we always bought for the local troop. The kids beat the heck of them and they stood up to the abuse.

In the marsh and maybe float a couple easy rivers. Mainly want to be able to bring the wife and kid along on a cruise.

If you can find a used Royalex or R-Lite boat, they’re the tits.

Craigslist.

I found an old town camper for $600. That’s a deal.

Now I also found the Craigslist Killer too. That was a canoe I bought that started sinking in the pamlico sound one morning. Damn near died.

Try and find an old Coleman scanoe... the one with a metal frame. Great boats.
