Jonah Hill. Could have easily fallen into the physical fatty humor and never grown out of it. I thought that’s be his niche.
But he’s killed it in dramatic roles.

Also didn’t think anything of Channing Tatum going into Jumpstreet but he’s ended up being a hilarious physical action comedy star.

Now that I look at it, they're fairly close for major film wins - Hanks' 8 to Denzel's 6 (and Denzel also has a Tony).
Hanks has 2 Oscar wins (5 noms), 4 competitive GG wins (and a Cecil B. Demille), back to back SAG wins to pair with his Oscar wins. He has 5 BAFTA nominations with no wins.
Outside of Denzel's 2 of 9 at Oscar, he has 3 GGs, and 1 SAG. Notably, no BAFTA nominations.
