Cut your carbs to below 100g per day.

This will force you to eat healthier and you’ll lose weight.

It’s a pain in the arse at first....but for your initial attempt to start eating healthy and losing weight....download the MyFitnessPal app and track everything you eat.

One thing i think most people that haven’t been eating healthy will notice...is that the “healthy foods” you think you are eating are not actually that healthy for you.

Would also recommend not completely giving up on your favorite food cravings. If you want the “diet” to last and keep the weight off....IMHO, it is easier for one to indulge once a week in what they love. Don’t go crazy, but go get yourself ur favorite ice cream or pastry or whatever (it’s sweets for me)...you will enjoy it but will also keep you on track so you don’t just let your diet slip for a day, then two days, then it’s a week before you know it and you go on vacay and you just say frick it.

But starting off....fast food gotta go and NO soft drinks. Those are just bottles of crap, get that as ur once a week indulgence if you are like some and have to have the soda.

Also, not sure if you are a drinker....but I would recommend giving up booze for first few months. Alcohol filled with calories and then u get buzzed and start eating crap.

When you start drinking back up....cut out the mixers and most beers. My go to is Tito’s and water with lemon. It’s very low calorie, half of it is water so you are keeping hydrated (hangovers are minimal even on a heavy pool drinking day) and a good summer drink IMO!

How do you do it?

Honestly, it’s difficult. You either have to A: spend a lot of prep time or B: spend a lot of money. Most people’s work schedules are not conducive to healthy eating.

I eat small meals in the morning, bars or something simple. Lunch is typically a salad with a protein. Dinner is a protein and veggies. I keep the treats to a minimum. If I want a snack after dinner it’s usually some popcorn or something lite. We usually grill on Sunday evenings so a lot of time I’ll put leftover meat on a salad for dinner on Monday night. This week I smoked a pork loin so that went on my salad.

If you like variety it can be difficult. I try to stay away from getting in a rut with chicken/pork. Mix in beef and fish/seafood. You can find individually wrapped tilapia and flounder filets at sams that make it easy to just thaw out and throw in a pan. Mixing proteins is pretty essential to staying on track, at least for me. I like green veggies, and most of the time you can load up with little penalty.

If you figure out what you like that is healthy, then it is easy to eat healthy.

Takes about 30 minutes to throw a few pounds of chicken in a pressure cooker to cook over a few hours, throw some rice in the microwave, then cook some veggies in the oven or in a pan.

Bam enough for 3-4 days worth of meals.

Stop drinking beverages with calories. Water, diet soda, black coffee with stevia, gatorade zero’s. Don’t listen to the aspartame is bad morons. Too much Sugar will kill you faster.

You don’t necessarily have to weigh everything, but I would recommend doing it for at least a few days. Get an idea of portion sizes. So many people say, I’m gunna eat a tablespoon of PB and stick a spoon in the jar. Really they have 2-3 tablespoons stacked on the spoon because they didn’t measure it.
You do that with other stuff, the additional calories will add up. You think you are eating 150 but you are consuming 300. Then people wonder why they aren’t seeing results

get used to eating the same thing every day for lunch during the work week. keep it simple and stupid whether that may be a whole wheat turkey sandwich or chicken breast and rice with veggies. dinner throw in some beef or salmon. Don't over think it. Unless youre a big health nut trying to make crazy healthy recipes just make the same simple healthy stuff. then reward yourself on the weekends.

Ignore anyone who says calories in and calories out is all that matters. Carbs , complex or refined (but especially refined) raise blood sugar. This triggers insulin. Insulin moves your body to store calories rather than burn it.

No im not recommending keto. But keeping carbs below 75 will definitely lead to a much healthier overall diet and more results.
