I find that other cultures and countries use diff terms.
Like partner instead of spouse. Even though they are a hetero couple.
But then again I was at an LSU watch party at a friend's house and was talking to this guy and he brought up his partner. I just thought business partner but he was actually talking about his boyfriend.
So there you go.
