Exterior lifts require a good bit of maintenance. When my grandparents got older my grandfather looked into an exterior lift for their camp. He ended up going with 2 separate runs of stair chairs. He was a retired architect still doing projects for the camp and St. Thomas More until his stroke. He always did plenty of research so I would look into other options and keep an exterior elevator or lift on the back burner.
