It was around, and it was worse than it was now. You being white, you just couldn't tell.

Ever heard the phrase "she's pretty for a black girl"?

Well, that's an example of racism, and the attitude that that phrase represented was rampant 15-20 years ago.

No, 15-20 years ago there wasn't this fixation with race that you see nowadays. And the "you being white" qualifier, is you being racist.

Is it racist to not be attracted to black chicks or is it mostly just a personal preference? What attitude does that phrase represent to you? Seems like an odd example of racism. I'm not attracted to most white chicks, does that make me a racist or does it only work in the opposite direction?

It wasn't being shoved in our faces, but it was there. It's now being shoved in our faces. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing seems to have been divided along party lines for the most part.
