What if they moved the LSU game up earlier?

Maybe they move it on Thursday or Friday night at Tiger Stadium? Any possibility of that? No way we can fit everyone in the Superdome anyway

They def need to consider that rather than risk the game cancelled by Ike.

you think N. Texas would play on 4 days rest?
Posted on 9/6/08 at 9:41 am to Rebel
Yeah, because after last year, the 152th ranked team has real aspirations of beating the defending national champion.
Think about it from the other direction, it is more days of rest for an OOC opponent they can actually have a shot at beating.

well then put it on Friday. Even only 4 days of rest is better than worrying about another hurricane or the effects of it

i am sure it is great for LSU, and N. Texas has zero chance to beat LSU.
but asking a bunch of kids to play on 4 days of rest isn't exactly the safe thing to do.
moving the game is probably the best solution, exspecially with another storm on the way.

Nothing wrong with a Fri. night kickoff.

If the City and School are ready. Can they be ready?

Only if we are forced to by North Texas.
But I definitely think we should at least attempt to get it done prior to Saturday if it looks like Ike is gonna hit close enough to concern us.
Moving the North Texas game would be synonymous to saying, "You know what? frick this season."
Even if we can beat Auburn with only one game, down the stretch the loss of the bye week will end any hope for this team to get anything more than a January 1st bowl. While that isn't anything to frown at, I think this team is capable of more...at least an at-large bid.

I don't think Ike is the big factor here. I think the fact everyone is worried BR will not be ready to host a party for 100,000 people is the issue.

With the latest track putting Ike on course for a possible Sat landfall perhaps it should be.

Eh...I am not sure I buy that. That reporter was talking out of his arse to get a story and has already been proven wrong.
And yes, Ike is the big factor here, or at least A big factor:

I amstill clinging to the fleeting hope that Ike will land in Alabama and not here. It sucks for them, but we can't take much more of this shite.

Even if it does do that, it will scare NOLA enough at least to result in the game being cancelled if left for Saturday
Posted on 9/6/08 at 10:42 am to lsufan7
I would definitely be down with a Thursday night game at this point.
