Why do people want Gov "in charge" of anything that it is not absolutely NECESSARY for?

I'm not suggesting we privatize elections. I am saying that Gov fricks up everything, so limit what they touch.

The call for more Gov control is literally (I mean that word) INSANE.

Of all the things which were screwy with the 2020 election, the part which should have had any sane person up in arms was just how remarkably fricked up the entire process looked when you looked behind the scenes even a little and saw the absolute incompetents that were in charge of this incredibly important right. I'm almost certain high school student council races are run with greater efficiency and more fraud protection.

We all instinctively understand how awful government is at a ton of things and we joke about it all the time, and yet in others we seem to act as if letting government handle it is the only possible solution. It's maddening.

You poor child.

Yes, they trotted out "incompetents" as the face of some of this, as a deflection, as a scapegoat.

But, you can't incompetently steal an election by manufacturing hundreds of thousands/millions of votes in critical states. That's the opposite of incompetent.

I've always been suspicious of electronic voting machines. To me, the only truly secure election is one on paper. Obviously that can be fricked with too but you literally have a paper trail and it's extremely hard to commit untraceable fraud with tangible things.

You can hold and examine paper. Any idiot can do it. Voting is supposed to be for the Common Man. The process should also be accessible by the Common Man. How would an average American even begin to understand the intricacies of managing and or manipulating an electronic vote. And that's on purpose. Way too easy to commit fraud electronically.
