Northeast Tennessee.
Dream offer: Technical Writing
Actual best case transition: Entry level product or sales analysis or logistics/operations support. I've started looking at Jr project management positions in construction because some of the companies around here are pretty good about training OTJ if you're a hard worker with some appreciable skills.
Would accept: Almost anything that's Mon-Fri that pays more than 13-14/hr.
My pay isn't great but it contributes to the household (wife is an OT baller), but my schedule is nothing but nights and weekends and it leaves my wife to take care of our kid all the time while we have almost no days off together. Things as simple as a weekend day trip take weeks of planning.
Every restaurant is looking for waiters/waitresses so swallow your pride and go wait tables and make very good money till you find something.
