re: This team has good talent

We really do have good talent and they're young. Kira, NAW, Naji, BI, Zion, Zo, Gabriel, and Hayes are all under 24. All except Zo are under contract next year. Had we had solid backcourt play this year we'd likely be battling for 4-6 seed. And just no to Zion, BI, or NAW as full time points.
With all the young talent, solidifying the point position, to me, is the teams' top priority. I don't think SVG is going to change Zo's role on this team. If so, I'm expecting him to walk. If that indeed is the case I'd advocate using some of our assets now (picks and players) to obtain a floor general who can shoot and defend.
I'm not out on Zo .... but it's real iffy at this point. I hoped that he'd take the reins, he is uniquely capable to orchestrate a team with BI, Zion, Jax, and NAW; but a combination of SVG using him as a 3D and him not stepping up at key leverage moments (ball control) makes that move seem improbable.
I like what I've seen of the 'young core'
-Kira, aside from his standout speed is also astute when it comes to decision making, half court vision, and ball control. He just really needs another 10-15 lbs. to improve his finishing ability.
-NAW is developing rapidly and has a game similar to his cousin SGA. Dude is crafty. He needs to get stronger in order to finish better and improve his overall decision-making to take the next step towards being a consistent 20 point per game scorer.
-BI and Zion are cornerstones with only defensive deficiencies holding them back from Superstardom.
-Gabriel is a nice piece that I had hoped SVG would have gotten minutes for earlier in the season. He shows good defensive activity, shoots the ball suprisingly well, and has length. He too needs an additional 10 lbs. on his frame.
-Naji has been a great find. He is fast and a defensive menace. He also appears to be a capable short corner 3 point marksman and slasher. His defense has been one of the keys to the teams improving its defensive prospects. He reminds me of Kenny Hustle with a better game.
-Jaxon is the hidden gem of the 2019 draft. This guy is a blank canvas that you can do so many things with. Hope the team allows him to develop his game. SVG had a similar player, Dwight Howard, that he turned into an MVP.
So yes, the prospects for this team are looking up ..... wither a lead to bring it all together.

Too bad not many people here are patient. I like this new approach and have young guys who we drafted and let them reach their potential. Young teams don’t win championships in the NBA. But teams who develop overtime do (Warriors, Raptors, Spurs). If Zion was in his prime, then we should worry and find another superstar.
