Which is also not ok. 2x the legal limit. Horses that don’t hurt run faster until they finally break.

Gamine keeps having her positives from pain masking drugs. Same for Charleton last year who then went to the bench with ankle issues. It’s just as big an issue

Also, I saw where rosario’s agent had $100,000 on Medina. And here I thought Joel had his foot out of the stirrup in the gate just to help Baffert.

I think the more apt comparison would be that “Bama or whomever is the Bob Baffert of their sport”.

So more of a breathing enhancer?

This type of steroid decreases inflammation, so it would help breathing, joint pain, and yes things such as skin rashes. But they obviously weren’t using it for the horse’s poison ivy.

Which is kind of what I guessed with concert tour. He looked to have gotten tired in Arkansas so I figured he either bled, which is kept quiet in stallion prospects, or he was given something to help his breathing and They we worried he’d pop positive.

Because I still think he’s the better baffert. And baffert doesn’t hold a “sound” horse out of the derby for no reason.

Bob Baffert is the Barry Bonds of horse racing.

Breathing is everything, especially if you are racing. People have been known to take asthma medicine to enhance air and thus energy and not necessarily even have asthma. Sports stars are still getting banned for it. It can be like speed to a horse and a human. In short, a huge advantage in a speed race.

Clenbuterol used to be legal and then had a pretty negligible withdraw time years ago. Everything in the barns was getting it. Then they cracked down on it pretty good.

The old saying no foot no horse could also be no lungs no horse

Why is everyone blaming Baffert and not Medina Spirit? Medina Spirit is the one that took the steroids.

Clenbuterol used to be in human asthma medicine years ago as well but had too long a half-life and the AMA went to albuterol instead. Meaning, clenbuterol was too effective for asthma patients and stayed in their system longer.

I also read that clenbuterol in horses has an anabolic effect that does not chemically happen with human consumption. Not all these cortisone medicines are created equal.

Now this is gonna be fun to witness right here. For years we had to listen to athletes fumble around with how they tested positive because they must have drank some bad tapwater. Now, we get to hear a trainer explain away how his horse attained steroids from the local Walgreen's.

quote:

He called the positive test "the biggest gut punch in racing" and added that he "does not feel safe to train."

In other words, "I'm gonna retire before I get suspended"

I do not trust for a second that he won’t frick around with the split sample somehow. I’m starting to get that dread of knowing he’s just going to get away with it again...

I can’t believe he’s not blaming barn help this time and instead is claiming he’s being framed.

God I wish he’d retire. Or get caught with something outside racing like kiddie porn so he’d for once face some consequences.
