always wear a band and always ice it immediately after playing.the best cure is to not play for 6 weeks but if thats not possible then you must do the previous mentioned things. take 2 aleve 30 minutes before playing.

I'm not sure why I'm getting downvoted. Yes, ice and aleve will minimize the pain and he needs to rest, but even those will probably not heal the problem. Tons on knee issues are caused by instability in the hamstrings, glutes, and quads causing undue pressure on the knee joints. Same thing for the shoulder. Triceps and biceps instability can cause the same issue in the elbow.
I've, in fact, dealt with the problem. Scraping and hypervolting on my triceps would alleviate the pain and make it go completely away.
