I hope he does well either way, maybe he'll surprise people and be moderate

The sad part is that even if that happens and he turns out great. A large portion of this board will still hate just due to their preconceived notions of the man.

I will be overjoyed if LSU grows in stature under his leadership. I think most will feel the same way.

I will not change my giving to the university because I care about the state and therefore irrespective of where my degrees come from (LSU) I will continue to give because I want my kids to see a thriving state. I expect some will change their giving. That in and of itself will hurt the university’s chances of thriving. Ultimately this feels like the board thumbing their nose at most of the state and alumni because they know better. I think that most feel the beliefs he put down on paper as watering down the degree that they achieved. I hope that doesn’t occur.

The problem is that he won’t be moderate. Plenty of liberal friends told me that Biden would be a moderate and that I had nothing to worry about. We see how that turned out. He was obsessed with race from day one, and this dude will be too. Hell, LSU already requires anti-racism classes for freshmen. That will be the tip of the iceberg under Tate.
