I still think Brennan is our starter in the Fall, but this actually would make more sense if you meant to say Max Johnson in the OP.

Had Max Johnson won the job, Finley could be thinking he'll never start considering they're the same year. Brennan winning the job means Finley still had a shot next season (or whenever Brennan leaves).

I was asking if the fact that TJ transferred, would now make the coaches more apt to start Brennan to keep depth.

Not that Finley left due to Brennan. Poor communication on my part. I agree with your point.

I just think finley knew he was running 3rd at best.
