If the election had not been stolen and Trump was in the White House and actively pushing vaccines, would you be more likely to get one?
Or does it go deeper than that?
Much deeper.
1. I firmly believe the wife had it in January of 2020 (symptoms of loss of taste and smell, flu-like symptoms, couldn't seem to get warm, persistent cough which lasted for a month or two after). Since the docs at that time had no idea what to look for they tested her for the flu but did not find it. They told her it was "some sort of viral-bacterial infection, but not the flu", gave her some anti-biotics and I think a steroid shot and sent her home. A week later she was fine (except for the lingering cough).
2. With the R0 of this thing I most likely had it and fought it off with no effects (as most do).
3. The FDA has not approved any of the vaccines for general use yet, only approved them for special, emergency use.
When I get the flu vaccine I'm usually off work for close to a week due to my body taking it like the actual live virus. When I don't get the flu vaccine I rarely get the flu. For me, the odds are better for me to not get the flu vaccine. This puts point #3 as a very important one for me.
Points 1 & 2 go to simple biology and the very basics of human immunology. I firmly believe my body has proven its ability to fight off the disease so going to get a vaccine, for me, would be a useless endeavor for the sake of nothing more than fear-induced crowd-following (or at least peer-pressure).
These aren't blanket statements for anyone else, just myself.
