Do truck drivers know how their trucks work? If my vehicle takes 8 minutes to complete a pass I would stay my arse in the right lane.

Often times it's about momentum. If those trucks hit their brakes with a full load, then have a hill to climb, it kills their momentum and it'll back up the right lane as they try to get back up to speed.

As opposed to backing up the left lane?

frick that. Truck drivers need to learn lane discipline.

It's either back up the left lane and force left laners to drive closer to the speed limit, or back up the right lane by going 10-20mph below the speed limit. The latter is much more dangerous.

What I'm hearing is we have a million loads on the road that should be on rails instead.
