Of some sort of historical note is the fact that Lincoln Parish was "cut" during Reconstruction from the already existing Parishes of Claiborne, Union, Bienville and Jackson. For reasons of fairness or equity in some way or fashion. I honestly don't know the exact reason, but that it was an action done specifically during Reconstruction would be the key to the answer.
