Some dickhead from a podunk place like Washington, LA with a buddy that works for the penal system will raise hell and scream “what about the children!?” Especially since there’s about 10 kids in a place like Washington, LA

Sheriffs and their legislature relatives will squash this or turn it into something that barely resembles legalization. The war on drugs is lucrative for them, and anyone working in the law enforcement and incarceration industry.

What investments have pharmacists made that lose value after legalization? Unless you’re talking about the lobbying costs to get medical marijuana legalized in the first place.

A lot less people on opioids for one.

If this passes can we shut up about Republicans voting with their bibles?

It's not the 1980s anymore. Republicans are not fighting gay marriage or marijuana.

If it doesn’t pass because a majority of Republican legislators oppose it, then what?

The reality is that if a majority of Republicans support it, it is pretty much guaranteed to pass. If it dies, it will most likely be due to Republican opposition.

I don’t think that means it’s strictly due to “voting with their bibles” but it’s a little silly to say Republicans aren’t fighting gay marriage or marijuana when that’s just factually untrue.

DA and sheriff offices official statement stance literally is that they are worried that legalized marijuana will lead to an increase in organized crime and teen suicide.... such fear mongering BS
