Harrison weighed 20 pounds more than Smith and his game was nothing like Smith's. Harrison was more of a possession receiver and not a deep threat burner like Smith. Smith's game is more comparable to someone like Desean Jackson than Marvin Harrison. Harrison was really good at short routes and turning them into big gains with his footwork. Reggie Wayne was more of the down the field deep threat on those Colts teams

Marvin Harrison was not just a possession WR. Look back at some of the early film his time at Syracuse and from when he first came into the league, he was fast. His speed along with excellent route running allowed him to get separation. His 40 at the combine was a 4.49 and in college he ran a 4.38.
