that's my main thing about these awards. very rarely have i seen or heard of most of the shows before the nominations for the GGs come out. very occasionally will i try to go see one between the time nominations come out and the actual awards.

2012 and 2019 were the only years in a long time that multiple blockbusters were nominated, and even then, they gave it to the weird arthouse movie. 2021 had no nominated movies that i'd go see in theaters (sound of metal and Judas and the Black Messiah were good though)
