The East Baton Rouge Parish Metro Council may create its own commission to change street names that honor Confederate soldiers and anyone else with historical ties to racism or other discriminatory actions.
Like the one it's modeled after in New Orleans, the Baton Rouge commission would spend a year taking inventory of public streets to determine which should be changed and developing recommendations for renaming them.

The City of St. George also needs a very timely surname.
Let's make it happen. St. George Floyd. It's the only way to correct St. George's racist past.

And honestly, anyone with the last name of Jefferson must also change their surname. Why they choose to spend their lives celebrating slave ownership is a head scratcher to me.
This proposal is clearly the best path to healing. It's time.

Since there is always a surplus there who cares if they spend a few hundred thousand on this shite....

If they seriously are concerned about image and accountability, might I suggest renaming all of the numbered streets in Baton Rouge.

I’m for it. They can’t stop us now.

This is great because the leader of St. George lives in a confederate avenue. I hope they rename his to George Floyd ave.

I think that they should look at the crime rates and police calls for street names.
I bet the ones named after presidents, states or Indian tribes are higher than the ones named after Confederates.
The rule should be, once their numbers (including numbered streets) are the same or better, they can rename those "racist" streets.

Going to morph one day from getting rid of Confeds to getting rid of all Christian and Western culture.
