I’m 4 episodes in and lost as frick on the world and geography. I really wish they’d do an intro or scene where they go over where all these different locations are.
Other than that I think it’s pretty good. I like the whole Russian Empire feel.

Same here as for being lost. This is so similar to Carnival Row. Nondescript armies & nondescript reasons for war without any map or understanding of who is fighting who. If I didn’t know any better, these two stories could be in the same universe.
The only thing missing are fairy hookers and Minotaurs

They do show a map briefly in one of the early orphanage scenes, but I had to look one up.
I didn’t think the show was bad, but I also didn’t think it was awesome. Good enough that I enjoyed watching it, not good enough for me to be waiting anxiously for a season 2. The universe is interesting but not captivating. Kind of “meh” to everything.
I think part of the issue is that the two most interesting things about the universe seem to be the Fold and the Grisha, and they fleshed both of them out fairly quickly. I haven’t read the books so I have no idea how it compares, but I think a little more mystery and wonder would have gone a long way.

agree x1000
I'm about 3 episodes in, and it's difficult to care too much about where we're going with these characters, if I dont know how we got here first.
I'm still not 100% sure who's east, west? Who are the factions? Why are they fighting?
