oh yeah I know that's only a single or couple day thing til everyone figures it out and gets it working. But it was easier to get all the required hexes than the previous system.
Mine was also not working most of the day and the helium app ate 42% of my battery by around mid afternoon. I could've used my phone as a hand warmer all morning. Anyway I tried the ol uninstall and reinstall and that fixed everything for me.

after using the new system for a week I dont see how this will have a huge effect on gaming the system. it is substantially easier for me to meet the daily threshold now than it was previously where you had to have unique mapping events at least 2 hours apart. it takes me less than 5 minutes of driving to get the 40 hexes. one could throw all their phones in the car, drive around for 30 minutes rotating which device is mapping and have all devices good for the day pretty quickly. although that said rewards are still ~25% higher than with the old system but im not sure that isn't just due to people still not able to map hexes, if its penalizing users that are usually together like families or if its actually had an effect on gaming.
