I don't think anyone consistently hit a baseball farther than Mark McGwire did. Were there a few blasts longer than his longest? Probably, but that boils down to conditions and catching it perfectly. That being said, the Canseco upper decker in the skydome may be the hardest hit ball in history.

I agree, but I'll throw Jim Thome out there as well. Consistently hit dingers into the nether regions.

Hardest home run I ever saw was Sammy Sosa in old Riverfront Stadium Cincy 1998 season. Hit the second level of seating on a line drive and looked (to me at least) like the ball was still on an incline. I'm sure it wasn't, but still.

Just based on science alone, anyone doing strength training today getting a hold of one of these 98 mph fastballs has to be sending it for a ride, though.
