Excellent point.

Wifey had a Mazda protege back in the early 90's (BTW that was a piece of shite) that developed a radiator leak in the plastic tanks on the radiator.

Replaced the radiator with a Modine aftermarket unit that had brass tanks instead of plastic.

Sometimes OEM is better, sometimes not.
