Oh I'm with you. I meant at that last moment before he stopped running and raised his hands. He should have stopped running, kept his back to the cop, tossed the gun on the ground while telling the cop that's what he's doing. Don't turn to face the cop while raising your hands when he knows you have a gun.

He was 13 and a special needs kid. While I agree with what he should/could have done do you really expect a 13 year old special needs kid to have that thought process?

I never agree with you Mickey but you are making sense here. The officer may not have seen him throw the weapon down, and then he suddenly turns..., kid put himself in this position. He may be young but he was old enough to pick up the weapon and run, he learned a hard lesson.
