I tried the long putter once, I couldn't hit a barn with it.

Langer was a master with it and Adam Scott was ok with it.

That European player Tim Scott? Career ended when it was banned.

I never saw it as much of an advantage to me.

I’d say just like anything it takes a lot of practice to be a good anchored or not. I do think anchoring the putter takes some of the skill out. Think it makes it more consistent. Webb Simpson went from a top putter on tour to one of the worst when they banned it. He’s worked hard and back to good stats but thought that was interesting.

Tim Clark. Good interview with him on the Sub Par podcast a couple weeks ago.

I sort of agree with the OP. Still don't understand the outrage.

It has never felt comfortable to me. Long putter seems like it waves around on the takeaway. And I couldn't even figure out how the belly putter worked.

Seems like it would take a shite ton of practice to putt as well as I do with my standard putter. And I'm not even a good putter (in part because I don't practice).
