Can anyone recommend a good book on the eastern native American tribes? Most books I see are on the plains and western tribes. I’ve always been fascinated with the stories of William Weatherford (Red Eagle), Tecumseh and Sequoyah. I read that Sequoyah’s Cherokee alphabet and written language was so successful that for a time, the literacy rate among Cherokees was higher than the Americans.
