“Did not have internet access”.

These people are playing semantics. They have network connectivity through a VPN to a central network - maybe not direct internet access.

That central network likely has internet access, however.

Centralized control is the concern. It has it.

I have a PC in my shop, it has WiFi capability built in, it does not have internet access because I dont need it. Probably same with the voting machines, the hardware is there for network access iff needed, but not setup internet access.

Yeah telit is a mvno that connects customers with data plans to cellular carriers like AT&T and Verizon. Typically these are setup with a private static ip address backhaul that would be accessed via vpn to some other data center. So imagine a network of thousands of these machines that can be reached thru a server running software to either collect data or even manipulate data on the machines. Someone needs to find out why that modem was in there and if it was provisioned during the election.

If these modems have a sim card, and can be used like a cell phone, and a cell phone can access the internet, then YES, they DO HAVE INTERNET ACCESS.
My cell phone can access the internet.
The owner of these machines should be in prison. There is only ONE REASON TO INSTALL A MODEM TO A VOTING MACHINE, and that is to cheat in an election. Thiswas premeditated and intentional.

The report indicated that both the voting machines and servers were designed to be on a VPN and prevent access to the internet.
