Long story but yes.

My Dad and uncle were fishing at toledo bend with my uncle's son in law. My Dad and uncle were in my Dad's boat and son in law was going to fish in my uncle's boat.

Uncle's cranking battery was dead. Called my uncle who told him he had jumper cables in his truck, to jump the battery off and load the boat back on the trailer.

Uncle didn't tell him the jumper cables were homemade and it was their first use. My uncle had accidentally wired it as the ground on the red side and the hot on the ground side.

If you are familiar with toledo this happened at Holly Park. Boat was on the bank on the south side, my Dad and my uncle were fishing the sunken bridge in patroon. When son in law touched the battery with those cables they heard the explosion loudly all the way at the sunken bridge.

My uncle said it was weird as soon as he heard it he knew exactly what happened. They hauled arse over there and he was ok, just had holes all in his clothes and skin was really red all over where the acid got on his skin. Luckily he had sunglasses on and none got in his eyes.

My uncle said on the ride back over there he just knew he was going to have to tell his daughter he killed her husband with stupid homemade jumper cables.
