re: Trolling motor battery exploded today.

Had one blow while charging. Left for work that morning and garage smelled a little eggy. Didn’t put two and two together until I came home that evening and the vent caps were on the floor next to the boat. It blew them off and tore a hole in the side of the battery. Happened about three years ago. Up to that point battery showed no signs of a problem.

Flushed the hell out of the bilge with water and water / baking soda mix. Still killed my bilge pump and live well circulators. Had to replace all three cartridges.
