Went to CNN’s website...story is buried below the headline of Biden’s concern over rising Covid numbers, 5-related sub-headlines, a major story on how Arab Americans (is this a thing?) have been disproportionately affected by Covid and finally a little line that reads “3 dead, 4 wounded” with no picture or anything. I mean, at least it’s bolded compared to the various sub-lines, but bullshite if this story goes anywhere.
“It’s a top story” my arse

Looking at Google maps and street view, it appears that 718 Kidder St in Wilmington, NC, the residence of the shooting, may be a new constructed place.
The nearby home is listed as 710 Kidder St, with a wooded/open corner lot shown next to it .
But, the surrounding homes look like they have seen better times in previous decades.
ETA: Google Earth confirms. There are 4 new homes constructed in a lot barely big enough for one house.

No you're right they should be breaking into regular programming across all networks to discuss a story with no details from the police.
And it's literally the top story on the right-hand news column.
