I remember how that Griffin experiment went. A QB suffering multiple concussions and other injuries before he flamed out like a falling star on a dark night. It's not just about building around someone's talent level, Baltimore is doing that, a smart OC like Shannahan wants a full progression read guy that has the instincts to process it. No amount of athleticism will replace those qualities.
In my life, the only time I've seen where having great wheels at QB really mattered was when they had a great arm and instinct to go with it. Steve Young, John Elway, Fran Tarkenton moved their feet with a purpose but had the passing savvy to pay it off.

My point was that Shanahan will adapt his offense to the talent on the roster. He won't force the talent on the roster to run an offense that he used with a different roster. He'll have his core principles, but he will be flexible.
