1/4 Oz simple syrup
2 dashes Angostura butters
2 Oz Bourbon (or Rye)
Stir in a mixing glass with ice until cold. Strain into another old fashioned glass filled with ice. Express the oils of an orange peel over glass and add to drink. Top with a maraschino cherry.
This is about the perfect drink for me. I like Buffalo Trace or Elijah Craig for my standard old fashioned, though just about any bourbon will do.
Check out Bourbon Real Talk on YouTube if you want to learn more about bourbon itself. The guy does a great job of teaching.
