We watched a lot of music videos with my daughter when she was an infant, they don't really pay attention to the music it just gets their attention and they watch what's happening on screen - you'll be surprised what they enjoy.
Super Simple Songs will get worn out but they love that stuff. Do everything possible to prevent them seeing suggested songs or browsing kids youtube - I suggest building a Playlist and only playing that. There's a ton of awful shite on there with low budget animation and audio that's basically a money farm for the animators who rely on parents to play anything for their kid. Some of it is downright creepy and gross.
When they get to 1 or 2, just let them watch cartoons or stop-motion that you enjoy without trying to guess what might be too scary or something. My daughter has been obsessed with zombies and monsters and shite since she was like 18 months old. Coraline, Paranorman, and Nightmare before Christmas are 3 of her favorite movies - and I know some adults creeped out by those
