Really not shocking that a lineup of inexperience is inconsistent

I get that, but these are the guys they are rolling with, right? We have all the talent in the world come to LSU, we should be able to put together a lineup that wont struggle against Oral Roberts Sunday pitching so badly in a game they should have been very fired up to win. Or Air Force pitching. These are guys that have to go up against legit MLB players coming here in the SEC and we cant even put together solid weeks right now against some of the worst teams by far we even play. We have all the talent in the world here, but feel like we're starting to just use excuse after excuse for why they cant put it all together. Some of it is bad managerial decisions for sure, but we have freshmen starters literally every year at LSU (usually multiple) so it's hard for me to accept "well they're just so inexperienced". Any 2nd year player at any school is just as inexperienced as ours due to the shortened season last year too. Once we get Gio back the inexperience in the lineup excuse just isn't valid to me any more. That put 3 mainstays in the lineup that have been here for multiple years and sprinkle in the younger talent we should at least be able to hit a bit. If this year's excuse is inexperience at the plate, whats going to happen next year when we have a whole new rotation potentially and our top relivers are gone? We cant pitch now but hey we have an experienced lineup? Getting off on some tangents, but...

So far Eddie Smith has been a pretty big disappointment to me. He came in with some big accolades but in the limited time last year and so far this year, I'd just much rather have almost any other team from our recent past at the plate. Plenty of time left still, but the excuses are starting to mount up here. At LSU you're expected to do good every season, 2 years in a row of struggling would not be a good look.
