I understand your point. But there is a difference between seeing a stock as a hold rather than a buy. Analysts’ ratings are usually pretty pathetic examples of Monday morning quarterbacking. But as individual investors, depending on our situations and outlooks, there are stocks that we may see as buys, holds or sells.
