So now we are to disregard a life-saving vaccine because of stem cells that would otherwise end in a compost pile?

The church doesn't support harvesting the unborn to create medicines. I realize you may not agree, but this has been a very clear moral position for a long time.
Those who don't care for the unborn just don't see things the same way as those that believe human life begins at conception.
