Hospitals aren't required to accept Medicare. Most non-Medicare hospitals are very small and very specialized. There is one in Jefferson Parish.
Dillard University used to own Flint Goodrich on Louisiana Ave in NOLA. Howard and Meharry own teaching hospitals. These hospitals train physicians and other medical professionals
