Christof in the Truman Show.
At some point in Truman's life he learned about: explorers, famous landmarks that were NOT on Seahaven, boats, etc...
There was a travel agency ON the island (granted, it was promoting NOT travelling), but still.
It would be pretty easy to simply not teach those things to Truman to begin with, and trust that he wasn't the type of once in a generation talent that could outright invent a boat with no pre-existing knowledge that such a thing was possible.
But no, for some reason they had to pique his interest at a young age about the concepts of travel and how vast the world actually is.

The Silence of the Lambs
1. Buffalo Bill disposed of his victims in various rivers but went to the extra trouble of weighing down the first one - which caused her to be the third girl found. Through Lecter's help, Clarice deduces that he did this because he knew her and wanted to hide his connection to her. Clarice then goes back to the first victim's hometown and follows up on people associated her, which leads to Buffalo Bill's house.
2. Buffalo Bill letting an FBI officer into his home with a deaths-head moth flying around while he fumbled through some cards to find a phone number.
3. Buffalo Bill not having his gun cocked and ready when he had Clarice helpless in the dark.
