Thanos prides himself on being a man of his word until his past self realizes they’re going to succeed in undermining his work. Yeah he snapped his fingers to eliminate half the population minus two. After he found out what happened in the future, Thanos drops the act. Thanos is only civil so long as he’s in control no matter what happens to him personally. So long as he gets his goal of purging half the universe, he’s as considerate as one can be with such a goal. frick this up though, then he shows his true colors.
