I got no issues with Desantis whatsoever. Really like the guy in fact. But if Trump's polling well leading up to 2024 (much like he is now), and he's indicating interest and enthusiasm about the potential of running....why would the Republican Party push him aside thereby likely infuriating the vast number of people who are quite partial to him? Clearly the universally accepted belief is that at this point in time, Trump is far and away the most popular potential 2024 candidate. So there's a significant prediction to say that this won't be the case leading up to 2024. If the current situation changes for whatever reason, well of course then Trump and his supporters would have to genuinely reassess the situation.

But I just can't figure out why some people are eager to move on right this moment.

Couple of points on Desantis: He's only 42 years old. Which is crazy to me.....mostly because apparently I'm getting old. Also, the left is definitely not gonna give him any sort of pass due simply to not being Trump. Desantis has been outspoken (which is great), so he isn't gonna find any friendly situation among the likes of Biden/Harris, Schumer, Pelosi, AOC et al, Bernie, etc etc.

I love Desantis and what he has done in Florida for sure. Should Trump not run, I believe Desantis is the only other option.

If Trump does run, not to change the subject but I think him not having Twitter actually helps him so much. No longer can people say “I like his policy but he’s an a-hole on Twitter so I can’t vote for him”.

This administration is going to go so far left that any Republican that may have voted 3rd party or even for Biden will have no choice but to vote for Trump in 24.

Because he will lose, bigly

You think voter turnout was high this election wait until if Trump runs again.
