That has very little to do with how polished of a ball player he was coming out of high school. MLB GMs don’t care if you’re raw. They’ll get you caught up in the minors.

In college it doesn’t matter what you can be in 6 or 7 years. So while Hampton and Crews may be on the same level in 6 years he’s not there now. And we have games to win now.

Yes this may be true. Crews is shown he can play at a very high level. Hampton has not had a chance to show what he can do. He was injured during the short amount of playing time he got in the past.

If 1 out of the 9 bats you have in the lineup will cost you a win against teams like Youngstown State, then that 1 guy is not the only problem. There is a reason that they play these teams early in the season.

This is the part of the season when you evaluate your players. Including all the great freshman we have this year. But when you have an elite talent like Hampton you need to find him opportunities.
