I am also curious to know why his playing time has diminished since last year.

He’s been passed up.

He was a raw prospect coming in and the majority of the time, that he hasn’t been hurt, he’s spent with the football team.

Combine that with arguably the best freshman class in school history and Hampton becomes a non-priority for baseball real quick.

Who should sit right now to justify getting a guy that has just picked up a bat for the first time in 6 months 1 month ago and will probably be leaving the team in the middle of SEC play at bats?

Please keep in mind with Gio’s injury all the guys playing in the outfield are newcomers and need as many at bats as possible as well.
