In my opinion you can’t really play two sports at a power 5 school in modern collegiate athletics. Especially if one of them is being a hitter in the SEC. The arms are too good to just miss 6 months out of the year and then another few weeks during the season and be able to pick up a bat and face those guys.

Yep, this is also why I always laugh about people getting excited for football/basketball kids thinking they even have a remote shot of playing both sports at any sort of decent level in the same year. You just cant juggle that in today's landscape, especially in a conference like ours that is very good in football and baseball and certainly talented enough in basketball where you'll just get left behind if you dont concentrate enough on 1 vs. the other.

You can play two sports. You couldn’t if studying were required. I am a huge fan season football tickets for 43 years. How many good players have ever been kicked off for academic purposes. The tail is wagging the dog at most successful athletic programs. With correspondence courses not available you don’t even have to see the campus classrooms. Manziel had no campus classes his senior year. This is not to say there aren’t good student athletes. Many choose not to be and after not making it in the pros sometimes regret not getting a degree. Still absolutely love it and watch every game. But to call these guys amateurs is a big joke.
