Why should they even have to ask permission?
Notice how all the language has changed over the last ten or fifteen years to “emissions”. The idea that coal plants are emitting actual pollutants is quaint. They changed the laws to mere emissions so that they could classify carbon dioxide as a pollutants. The problems with coal plants causing things like acid rain was solved decades ago. Now it’s all about carbons which do no one any harm except in the fevered imaginations of the “muh climate change” idiots.

So the DOE responds to Texas at 8pm on Sunday? That's a little late for any preparations to ramp up production.
We had already lost power for 7 hrs on Sunday by the time DOE sends this out.
This ridiculous and the DOE was sabotaging TX. I agree with many here that Abbott should've just sent the order to ramp up production.
